Hearts of Iron, But Only Halves...

Broken Hearts

When someone you have loved so has broken your heart,
you must wonder how much was also your part,
for would someone so dear do such a thing so sad,
unless it was not their fault either, perhaps just part of the plan.

Do not think thoughts of malice, that was not it, I believe,
it was never his desire, his intention, you see,
for he was he was just a soul who had lost his dreams,
another sad soul searching for love, just like me.

And when it was all up in the air and our emotions were frail,
the silence between us became longer, then stayed,
and the truth of the matter at the end of the day,
is that we had broken each other’s hearts on the way.
