Therese Gramercy . . . the girl named Trees

Stairs

Home

He pulls her close,
he tilts her head,
to take in her face,
one last “I love you” he says.

She smoothes his hair,
she adjusts his tie,
as she looks one last time
lovingly into his eyes.

Their love for each other
will live on in this poem,
for they lived too far apart
to share a home.
