You, my clouds, have always been
one of nature’s treasures “at one” with me.
I love your presence above in the sky
even as you scatter your raindrops down to the sea.
Sometimes you are gargantuan white cotton balls
other times you keep all at bay with dark thunderous forms,
you might show up as dotted hot pink puffs in an orange popsicle sky
or as a thick layer of fog rolling in slowly from the sea to the shore.
I even fashioned my bed to remind me of you,
with plush puffy pillows and purest white sheets,
to see how it feels to be a cloud as I fall sleep each night,
and it feels just like heaven as I drift with you and I dream.
